The Foley

The Foley Senior Residences is a 98 unit mixed income assisted and independent living facility located on the former campus of the Boston Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood. The project began in 1999 when Trinity was selected by the Boston Public Health Commission and the Mattapan Community Advisory Board as developer of the 52 acre campus. The Foley marks the first phase of the overall campus redevelopment project. The development entailed adaptive reuse of the hospital's former administration building into 98 units of assisted and independent senior housing. The Foley consists of studio and one bedroom apartments, each approximately 350-560 square feet with private kitchens and bathrooms. Common amenities include a cafe, dining room, chapel, library, salon and laundry facilities. This first phase also included development of the E Building, another historically significant building on campus that provides 18 units of single room occupancy housing for the Entre Familia program, a housing program run by the Boston Public Health Commission, for recovering Latina women and their children.
